What I'm Working On

This week I have finished these two purses.  They are sold, but I have lots more fabric and can make more. I just love the black and white.

I have also been working on a new quilt.  Last week I put together the dahlias with a dresden plate pattern.

Here is the finisihed motif.
And here is the finished appliqued block.  One down, 19 to go. This is going to be a big one!

The final project to work on this week is a quilt top that I am quilting for my good friend Patty. It's in the quilt frame and ready to work on.

Hope everyone has a blessed and happy week.

Steppin' Out 2011

I had an awesome time this weekend.  Best show I have done this year!  I have a rock star daughter who helped me both days.  Without her it would have been impossible for me. I don't think I could have done it alone.
Although it was very warm, there was a load of people coming through.  We were in Market Square Park with other new vendors to the show and the children's activities were there as well, so it was a pretty busy spot.  Especially on Sat.
Thanks to all who stopped by and thank you for your support and interest in my work.
This week I hope to spend some time updating my blog, but today I think I'll try to rest.

Maroon and Orange

Busily creating Virginia tech colored items for Steppin' Out 2011.  Aug. 5-6 from 10am-10pm both days.
My newest item is this little teddy. I love him and hope that VT fans do too!

Also I have my old standby snowman recycled light bulb ornaments. And these new quilted ornaments in VT colors.

I have been making neck cooler ties and checkbook covers and jewelry bags and business card holders--All in Maroon and Orange.  Hope these are good sellers in Blacksburg next week.
Come on out and see us.  Our booth is located at the corner of Roanoke St. and Draper Road, next to the farmers market.

Please help me pray for sales and a blessed day to all!

Clarksville Show

I was really looking forward to the Lakefest show in Clarksville. 2 1/2 hrs. down and $150 fee, I was hoping not to lose money.
I was located in a prime spot between 4th and 5th street.  If not for the breeze from the ally behind us, we would have been crispy by the end of the very Hot day.
Sales were not bad, but expenses were high because of the gas prices. I sell small items, so I have to sell a lot to make money.
All in all the day was fun.  I always enjoy my friend Phyllis' company and meeting and greeting folks that are interested in arts and crafts.  I now have to concentrate on Steppin' Out in Blacksburg.
Computer is slow today.  I'll post pics later.

God's Blessings to all

So Busy

Still working on inventory for the big upcoming shows and have really been busy.  Have some new work to share.

This quilt is a queen size fence rail quilt that I have quilted for a friend.  She did a great job on the top and now it is ready to bind.

This one is a small wall quilt that I finished quilting on Sunday.  It is also ready for a binding. I'll get to that today.

I am still working on hot air balloons.  This one is going to be my charity ornament this year to raise money for the NRV Women's Resource Center.

And I have added more VT ideas for Steppin Out.

Not finished yet, but coming along.

So, that's what I have been doing.  Hope everyone has a Blessed day and is busy with their own creative passions!

Playing Catch Up

Since my last post I have had a birthday and have done a Friday night set up at Floyd Artisan Market.

The birthday was a blast

The set up at Floyd was a lot of fun.  The kickoff for the Floyd Artisan Trail Tour, there were a lot of people milling around.  I have found, however that folks these days are holding tight to the purse strings.  A small profit was made and the gallery was hopping, but we sure hope for better next time.  God willing!
I am still working constantly for the upcoming larger shows.  I am excited about doing new and bigger shows.

God bless and hope everyone's day is a happy one!
