It's that time of the year again!

It's the time of year when Christmas is on the mind and the inventory needs pumping up for the craft shows.  I rarely do spring and summer shows, but the end of the year is very busy with shows and open house.  Since most of my sales are made with Christmas decoration and ornaments, I need to start NOW!
So.  Around my house it's just about Christmas all year long.
Here are some of the projects I am getting into.

These little hats are made from recycled toilet paper tubes and cereal boxes.  I just love decorating them in different and interesting ways!

Working on some spoon ornaments as well.

The little pigs and frogs are made from recycled light bulbs.  Just part of my menagerie.

I'm also working on team spirit spoons and light bulbs.

Team Buntings!

And lovely name buntings.  I charge $2 per letter.  These are hand painted letters on burlap bunting.

Hope you have enjoyed my little update.
Have a blessed and happy day!

Back to Work!

Working on some wedding buntings.

Painted letters on burlap with surged edges.  Embellished with lace and little hand made rosettes.

Then covered in a sparkly glitter glue just for fun.

What do you think?

Have a blessed day!

Doodling

I have spent some time this morning doodling on my long arm quilting machine.  I think practice is always good.  If I get confident, maybe I could take in some quilt tops to make a little extra money.

Still a little rough, but making progress.
What do you think?
A Happy and Blessed Day to all!

Sneak Peek

I would like to share a sneak peek of the quilt I am currently working on.  It's in the long arm machine and I am practicing a little custom quilting.

This quilt is going to my daughter to put on her office wall at NRV CARES, http://www.nrvcares.org/ and will be donated to the gala next year for auction.

This weekend, I had two machines going at once.  The embroidery machine for quilt blocks, and the quilting machine.

Blessings and happy day!

Toothbrush Rag Rug

Just a little spring project.

Toothbrush rag rug made from slightly used sheets.
These no longer fit any of my beds.  So why not use them to create a nice durable rug.  I have made these a few times and they are awesome for bath mats or kitchen rugs.  They are reversible, so when one side gets dirty, just turn it over and use a little longer.  Then it's just an easy launder and these rugs are ready to go again.  Love these!

Maybe I'll clean out my linen closet and make more!

Happy Day!

Pinkeeps

Just wanted to share pictures of the make do pinkeeps that I've made.  Enjoyed making these from upholstery samples from our local furniture store.  These fabrics looked like Valentines to me.
The pinkeeps are mounted on heavy candlestick bases and have a pocket for thimbles and such.
If you like them and are interested in purchasing, let me know.

The stick pins are hand made by me and also the rosette flowers.

The map in the background is a vintage one of Franklin County where we live.  The moonshine capitol of the world.

Happy Day!

Back to Work

I have some finishes to share today.  After the Christmas season, I took some time off to rest and spend with the family. Now, I'm getting the bug to create.
I've had some wine bottles saved for a while and was inspired to alter them.
Here are the results.

Decoupage and hand painting with embellishments make these so pretty.  I am pleased with the way they turned out and I had so much fun doing them.

Hope your day is blessed,
Pat
